The 2008 Annual meeting was held at the HARTLEY OUTDOOR EDUCATION
CENTER in ST. CHARLES, MICHIGAN Friday and Saturday, August 15 and
16 Here is a summary of this year's itinerary
FRIDAY, AUGUST 15, 2008
8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. -- Registration open in the Moosehead
Café at the Hartley Outdoor Education Center
8:30 A.M. -- Michigan Forest Association Board Meeting
Classroom, Hartley Outdoor Education Center
Noon – 1:00 P.M. -- Sandwich bar lunch in the Moosehead Cafe
1:15 – 1:45 P.M. -- Welcome to Hartley and introduction to
their programs by Jim Blaschka
1:45 - 2:30 P.M. -- Cougars and wild boars in Michigan – Dr.
Patrick Rusz, Michigan Wildlife Conservancy
2:30 – 5:30 P.M. -- Tour Hartley Outdoor Education Center,
including the Murphy Farm and timber harvest area
-- Concurrent children's program at the Murphy Farm
5:00 P.M. -- Alumni reception for Michigan Tech graduates
hosted by Chris Hohnholt, of MTU
6:30 P.M. -- Wild game barbecue dinner at the Hartley
Outdoor Education Center
-- A visit with John Paul LeFranc, the "Voyageur"
SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, 2008
8:00 – 9:00 A.M. -- Registration in the Moosehead Café
at the Hartley Outdoor Education Center
8:30 A.M. -- Assemble at the Hartley Outdoor Education
Center for field trips (see details below)
5:00 P.M. -- Annual business meeting of the Association at
Hartley Outdoor Education Center
6:00 P.M. -- Banquet, auction, and raffle at the Hartley
Outdoor Education Center
10:00 P.M. -- Enjoy the rest of your summer!
